The Wisconsin Badgers slipped to No. 16 in the Men’s Basketball Rankings after a disappointing loss to Creighton. At number 16 the team packed their bags and headed to Hawaii to play in the Maui Jim Tournament.

Wisconsin drew Tennesee in the first game of the tournament, and the game started out all Wisconsin as the Badgers jumped out to a 12-0 run lead by Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes. Turns out the Badgers would be lead by Bronson Koenig  with 21, followed by Nigel Hayes who had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ethan Happ contributed with 16 points but his rebounds were low compared to what he usually puts up. Impressive Freshman D’Mitrik Trice led the bench with 5 points (the only other scorer of the bench was Khalil Iverson with 2).

As a team, the Badgers shot ugly from behind the 3pt line with a 38%, the only bright spot in 3 land was Nigel Hayes who went 3-3. The Badgers field goal percentage was above 50% which is decent, the free throws also helped the Badgers as they shot 68% from the foul line.

The Badgers get a tough task as tonight they play Georgetown at 7 PM CT, Georgetown controlled a pretty good Oregon team yesterday. If the Badgers win they will play either Oklahoma State or No. 4 North Carolina in the Championship Game tomorrow.
