Wednesday the Green Bay Packers announced  that they will not remove RB Eddie Lacy and CB Sam Shields from the IR, meaning their season is over. It’s a shocking desicion that says more about how severe Lacy and Shields injuries are.

Sam Shields suffered a concussion in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and hasn’t played a game since. Shields has had a history of concussions and doctors fear he may not be able to play again.

Eddie Lacy suffered his ankle injury late in the 3rd quarter against the New York Giants in Week 5. Lacy, however, played the next week against the Dallas Cowboys. Even though Lacy had 17 rushes for 65 yards against Dallas, he never really looked 100% and hasn’t played a down since.

Eddie Lacy is a free agent at the end of the season, meaning he might have played his last game with the Green Bay Packers.
