Last night the Admirals defeated the Rockford IceHogs 3-2 in a shootout to extend their win streak to 5, and their point streak to 9 games.

The IceHogs were led by forward Tyler Barnes, who netted both goals for the IceHogs. The goals were scored in the first 6 minutes in the 1st period, and with 2 minutes left in the 2nd, but that didn’t stop the Admirals.

Down 2 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd period, Admirals forward Frederick Gaudreau scored to make it a 1 goal game. Just a few minutes later, with just under 3 minutes left in the game, Admirals forward Vladislav Kamenev scored to tie the game and send it to overtime.

After a scoreless overtime, the Admirals and IceHogs went to a shootout where goaltender Marek Mazanec shut the IceHogs down, stopping all 3 IceHogs shootout attempts. Kevin Fiala scored the loan goal in the shootout to send the Admirals home with a victory.

IceHogs goaltender Mac Carruth played an outstanding game despite the loss, stopping a total of 36 out of 38 shots. He moves to a record of 1-3-1. Admirals goaltender Marek Mazanec gets the win stopping only 14 out of 16 shots. He moves to a record of 2-0-1.
