Week 2 of North Shore Conference play has concluded, and only one undefeated team remains. The Cedarburg Bulldogs are now all alone in 1st place with a record of 2-0. Here’s what happened this week:
Homestead 68 Germantown 64
The Homestead Highlanders traveled to Germantown and took out the Warhawks. Homesteads Garrett Mitman led the Highlanders with 15 points, while Junior Greg Foster Jr. had 14 points for the Highlanders. The Highlanders get their first conference win of the season as their record goes to 1-1. For the Warhawks Senior, Bryce Thomas led the team with 17 points. Senior Kyle Clow had 16 points, and leads the North Shore in points per game with 26. The Warhawks conference record goes to 1-1.
Whitefish Bay 72 Port Washington 66
Whitefish Bay battled Port in a close game Friday as Senior Xavier Johnson led the team with 22 points. Sophomore Demetrius Johnson had 18 points for the Blue Dukes as they improve their conference record to 1-1. The Port Washington Pirates couldn’t close out the game as they fall to 0-2 in conference. Adam Bail and Jordan Gardipee led the Pirates with 16 points.
Cedarburg 80 Milwaukee Lutheran 57
The Cedarburg Bulldogs showed just how strong they are, as the stomped the Red Knights to remain undefeated. John Diener had 25 points at half and finished the game with 35. Jordan Johnson had 17 points as the Bulldogs take over first place in the North Shore. Milwaukee Lutheran falls to 1-1 after a sloppy game. Juniors Chris Means and Joe Bradford led the Red Knights with 12 points. Sophomore K.J. Daniel had 7 points, Daniel is 5th in conference in points per game with 17.2.
Nicolet 42 Grafton 37
The Nicolet Knights got their first conference win of the season in a low scoring game against the Grafton Blackhawks. Senior Jayden Hardy led the Knights with 18 points, while Freshman Jamari Sibley had 12 points as the Knights improve to 1-1 in conference. The Blackhawks were led by Senior Logan Hilgart, who had 11 points as the Blackhawks only managed to put up 37 points in the low scoring affair. They drop to 1-1 in conference.
Next week begins the first week where each team will play Tuesday and Friday. Cedarburg looks to remain undefeated next week as they face the 0-2 Port Washington Pirates, and the 1-1 Nicolet Knights.
