Packers dominate Seahawks; Packers 38 Seahawks 10

After today, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has only lost twice by 10 or more points, both at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. The Packers made a statement as they defeated the Seahawks in dominant fashion by a score of 38-10.

The Packers started off with a bang as QB Aaron Rodgers threw a 66 yard touchdown pass to WR Davante Adams on the 3rd play of the game.  In the 2nd quarter WR/RB Ty Montgomery punched in a 1 yard run for a touchdown, and WR Jordy Nelson caught a 9 yard touchdown pass to make it 21-3 Pack at half. The Packers scored 2 more touchdowns in the 2nd half. Jordy Nelson caught his second touchdown of the day in the 3rd quarter and Jeff Janis had a 19 yard touchdown run in the 4th to extend the Packers already big lead. Seattle’s loan touchdown came from former Badgers QB/WR Tanner McEvoy when he reeled in a 21 touchdown pass from former Badgers QB Russell Wilson.

Aaron Rodgers was replaced in the 4th quarter by QB Brett Hundley. Rodgers injured his calf on the 3rd play of the game, but fought through the injury and stayed in the game. Rodgers says with some tough rehab this week, he thinks he will be able to play next week vs the Bears. Coach McCarthy did not comment on the severity of the injury, but we’ll know more as the week progresses. TE Jared Cook left the game late in the 1st half with a chest injury, he did not return.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was 18/23 with 246 yards, and 3 passing touchdowns. WR Davante Adams had another big game, he had 104 yards on 4 receptions with a touchdown. Jordy Nelson had 2 touchdowns on the day along with 41 yards on 6 receptions.  WR/RB Ty Montgomery led the Packers in rushing with 41 yards on 9 carries. Former Seahawk RB Christine Michael had 36 rushing yards with 10 carries.

The Packers defense had a field day with Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. Wilson threw a career high of 5 interceptions, 2 to Packers CB Damarious Randall. Wilson was 22/39 with 240 yards and 5 interceptions. RB Thomas Rawls led the Seahawks in rushing with 67 yards on 12 carries. WR Doug Baldwin led the Seahawks in receiving yards 46 on 6 receptions. Former Badger Tanner McEvoy had 3 receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks fall to a record of 8-4-1.

The Packers improve to 7-6 but are still behind the Vikings and Lions in the playoff race. The Packers now head to Chicago as they face the 3-10 Chicago Bears next week. The game is scheduled to kickoff at noon Sunday on FOX.
