The Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Texas Stars in a close game Thursday night to get their 2nd straight win.
The Admirals and Stars battled back and forth all night, but the Admirals prevailed after a late goal in the 3rd to get the win. Pontus Aberg and Jonathan Diaby both netted goals in the 1st period to get a 2-0 lead, but the Stars answered with 2 goals of their own to tie the game going into the 2nd. The Stars scored a quick goal to start the 2nd period, but they didn’t have the lead for long as newly signed forward Reid Boucher scored his first goal as an Admiral to tie the game going into the 3rd period.

Admirals goaltender Marek Mazanec stepped up in the 3rd period as he stopped shot after shot to keep the Admirals in the game. Felix Girard scored late in the 3rd period to take the lead for the Admirals.
The Admirals improve to 16-5-2-1 on the season while the Stars fall to 13-9-1-1. Marek Mazanec stopped 33 out of 36 shots to improve to 4-1-1 in the AHL this season.
The Admirals and Stars are back at it again tomorrow night. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Cedar Park Texas.
