Packers beat Bears in thriller; Packers 30 Bears 27

The Packers battled the Bears in a thriller Sunday afternoon. The Packers kicked a last second field goal to beat the Bears, and improve to 8-6.
The Packers started the game hot as they drove down the field and punched in a 4 yard touchdown run by Ty Montgomery. The Bears answered with 3 points of their own midway through the 2nd. Bears QB Matt Barkley threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to Joshua Bellamy to give the Bears a 10-7 lead. The Packers quickly drove down field to set up a 34 yard field goal to tie the game 10-10 at half.

The Pack came alive in the 2nd half scoring 20 unanswered points to take a 27-10 lead going into the 4th, but the Bears never gave up. The Bears answered with 14 points of their own to make it 27-24. The Packers offense had no answer to the Bears as they punted the ball away with 5:55 left to go in the game. The Bears drove all the way down the field and got 1st and goal with 2:00 to go, but the Packers defense finally stepped up. The Bears settled for a field goal to tie the game 27-27 with 1:19 remaining. The Packers looked like they would have to punt the ball back to the Bears with little time left, but Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson had other plans. On 3rd and 11 from the Packers own 26, Rodgers connected with Nelson on a 60 yard bomb to set up a game winning field goal. After getting iced Mason Crosby drilled a 32 yard field goal with no time left on the clock to send the Packers home with a victory.

Aaron Rodgers went 19/31 with 251 passing yards. Despite and injured calf muscle, Rodgers also ran for 19 yards. Ty Montgomery had the game of his life as he ran for an incredible 162 yards on 16 carries, with 2 rushing touchdowns. Christine Micheal got his 1st touchdown as a Packer, he ran for 45 yards on 4 carries. Jordy Nelson led the Packers in receiving yards, he had 124 yards on 7 receptions. It was a day to forget for WR Davante Adams, he had 2 receptions for 25 yards and dropped 2 balls in the endzone.
Bears QB Matt Barkley had a great game despite the loss, he went 30/43 with 362 yards and 2 passing touchdowns. However, Barkely also had 3 interceptions, 2 of them to Packers Saftey Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Rookie RB Jordan Howard led the Bears with 90 yards on 17 carries. The Bears had a big day on the receiving side, WR Deonte Thompson had 110 yards on 8 receptions, while Cameron Meredith had 104 yards on 19 receptions. WR Alshon Jeffery also had a good game, he had 89 yards and a touchdown on 6 receptions.

The Bears fall to 3-11 on the season while the Packers improve their record to 8-6. The Packers will play their final home game of the season next week in another must win game as they battle the Minnesota Vikings. Kickoff is set for noon on Christmas Eve.
