The Admirals ended their 3 game losing streak, as they shutout the Iowa Wild by a score of 3-0.
The Admirals got on the board first when Mike Liambas scored a goal to give the Ads an early lead. The Admirals scored again early in the 2nd, when Frederick Gaudreau scored a backhand goal in front of the net to give the Admirals a 2 goal lead. The Admirals extended their lead to 3 when Justin Kirkland scored his 1st career AHL goal.
Admirals goaltender Jonas Gunnarsson got his first career AHL shutout on Wednesday. Gunnarsson stoped a total of 25 shots to get the win and improve to 2-2-1-1. Wild goaltender Alex Stalock receives the loss, he falls to 9-8-2-2. With the win the Admirals end their 3 game losing streak and improve to 18-8-2-2 while the Wild fall to 14-15-2-1.
The Admirals have a day off before traveling to Chicago to take on the 16-11-3-2 Chicago Wolves. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.
